The Audi R18’s name is tarnished, time to replace it. Viva la R24! Also fuck you Renault R24, I don’t see you using the R24 name any time soon so stop campin on it...
Maybe the RS24 for now, then jump back once we get past the Renault-camped-numbers... (Which is why we’re still on the R18)
The Audi RS24 Rächer* has a nice ring to it... Besides maybe in a year or two we can watch the Truth in 24 III.
*Avenger. Since we're deviating from the R-naming scheme we might as well give it an actual name for the first year...

Ug, Toyota can go to hell. I don’t need a Toyota Camry LeMans edition... Same with Nissan, but at least Nissan has that Wacky concept so I could understand why..
But the sales pitch for the Toyota would be “ Its even more grounded to the ground! ”

Because now the streak is dead.
If Audi gave a good fight, I wouldn’t be so pissed, but Audi got destroyed... Not nearly as close as Nissan or Toyota, but for champions?

Since 1999, with the R8C/R8R, Audi has won 13 out of 17 races. And if your going to count Bently, which used a modified Audi R8C chassis, it’d be 14 out of 17,
The longest streak was 5 races from 2004-2008, and 2010-2014. Counting Bently It’d be 9 races from 2000-2008. They proved their point with the Audi R8, and could’ve pulled out a while ago.
I have a couple theories:
(1) they honestly gave it their all but lost anyway
(2) Porsche developed their car exclusively for LeMans, while Audi developed for the overall championship
(3) VAG is having Audi back-off so to prepare the shift from WEC to F1
(4) VAG is having Audi go for th championship while Porsche gets LeMans
(5) Stef sabotaged Audi.

Ah that info I found only was on the R18. I think your theory 1 is the truth. No one goes into LeMans wanting to loose/planning to loose.

Well, I definitely don’t want it to be #3, as F1 has gotten so boring that I doubt even another big team could make it interesting...
At this point, Audi belongs at LeMans (besides, it doesn’t make more sense for Audi, they can’t use/market the Quattro, develop hybrid technology, and use their LaserLight technology). They are the #2 most winning manufacture at LeMans, behind Porsche. (13 vs 17)
